Flew in an Avanti I on Friday. On approach, flaps mid, the two pilots (both experienced Avanti pilots) noted a "strange/different" sound. They said they had never heard it in another Avanti, that it didn't sound bad, just different. Sound not noticed on departure nor flaps full.

Any of the Avanti folks have any experience with this or thoughts on it?

Nope. We operate an EVO 3009.

Flaps mid is the only time the Avanti has considerable wind noise especially at the upper limit air speeds. Probably that’s all it was they were just going faster than usual in that configuration.
